- The ten commandments of e-mail etiquette
1 - Thou shalt use the “Subject” field as god intended. Give your message a
subject that will reflect its contents. Make it easy to find in a busy in
box even a year in the future.

2 - Thou shalt not attach large photos. Use ofoto.com or some other free web
site to host your photos and invite people to view them.

3 - Thou shalt not SHOUT. Typing in ALL CAPS is shouting.

4 - Thou shalt not forward spam to thy neighbor, if they did not ask for it,
it is spam. Even if it is cute or funny. I you must, ask first if you can
add them to your joke list.

5 - If you must send or forward a message to a large group use the “BCC:”
field NOT the “To:” field for addresses. Only put your own address in the
“To:” field. This will protect others from spam bots that collect messages
full of addresses.

6 - Thou shalt not open SPAM, even for a peek. If you open it you will just
get more.

7 - Thou shalt not open attachments unless they are expected. If in doubt
reply and ask what it is.

8 - Protect your e-mail address from un-trusted sites.. Keep one free account
for website signups and shopping. Keep your personal e-mail address
private and only use it for personal correspondence.

9 - Thou shalt not give thy neibors e-mail to un-trusted websites. This goes
for greeting card sites too. If its not hallmark or yahoo don’t trust it.

10 - Don’t let your friends or family break any of theses commandments.
